IT Project Manager - £550-£600 per day - Inside IR35 - primarily remote with attendance to a site in Sunderland, Edinburgh or London - 6 months initial contract.
My client, a major renewable energy company, specialising in wind power, solar power, and battery storage technology is looking for a highly experienced IT Project Manager to join them on contract basis.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Enterprise Architect to conduct a comprehensive discovery phase, documenting the systems and services in use across the business. This role will drive the definition and embedding of Technical Governance within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead the Enterprise Architecture and Technical Governance project, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Discovery Phase: Work with the Enterprise Architect to engage with the business, identifying and documenting current systems and services.
- Technical Governance: Drive the development and implementation of Technical Governance frameworks within the organization.
- Complex Project Delivery: Manage and deliver technically complex projects across IT infrastructure, networks, upgrades, enhancements, and software delivery.
- Best Practices: Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Methodology Adherence: Adhere to project delivery methodology, ensuring standards and governance are maintained.
- Vendor Management: Manage vendor engagements to ensure project success.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and engage with relevant stakeholders to design and implement effective solutions.
- Progress Reporting: Provide consistent project updates, reporting on progress, risks, and issues to various audiences.
- Documentation: Ensure all project artefacts are complete, up-to-date, and correctly stored.
- Approval Management: Secure and document sign-offs and approvals.
- Budget Management: Track and report on project budgets and costs.
- Schedule Management: Develop, manage, and report on project schedules.
- Risk Management: Proactively manage risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Transition Management: Ensure a controlled and successful transition to production and acceptance into service.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing technical governance projects.
- Experience working alongside enterprise architects.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver technically complex projects, including IT infrastructure and software delivery.
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices and project management techniques.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in vendor management and engagement.
- Proficiency in project budgeting and cost tracking.
- Ability to manage project schedules and meet deadlines.
- Effective risk and issue management skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Experience with LeanIX, Jira, and Confluence.
