Responsibilities: 

  • Interface with client personnel (DOE).
  • Interfacing with CNS Y12 (Plant Operations).
  • Interfacing with the STR’s to support the Subcontractor.
  • Reviewing design documents for constructability.
  • Material takeoffs.
  • Use of SetRoute, BPS, TeamWorks, etc…
  • Directs preparation of quantity listings of field purchased material and equipment. Initiates requisitions for field purchases and perform receipt inspections of materials as required.
  • Prepare work packages.
  • Assists supervision with the design of temporary construction facilities via field sketches and ensures preparation of “as built” drawings and other job plans.

Assist supervision with:

  • Scheduling work activities.
  • Interpreting design drawings/documents.
  • Monitoring equipment installation, planning for delivery of construction materials and equipment.
  • Assuring that proper warehousing and storage exists to ensure environmental protection.
  • Reviews specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals and technical data to assist and advise on‑site.
  • Coordinates with the appropriate site management on activities affecting the contract administration operation.
  • Reviews as assigned the preparation of construction estimates, cost, schedules and budgets.
  • Determines that vendors’ bids for material and/or equipment are in conformance to specifications.
  • Coordinates the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the Project Controls program at the job-site. Reviews project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

Level 1: B.S. Degree in Engineering or similar from an accredited program and 1+ years of experience or 7+ years related experience in lieu of degree.
Level 2: B.S. Degree in Engineering or similar from an accredited program and 3+ years of experience or 9+ years related experience in lieu of degree.
Must be a US Citizen.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience of DOE, DOD and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is required.
  • Candidates should be self-starters, highly motivated, requiring little supervision, and be able to work well in a team environment.
  • The candidate should have a good working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as NFPA 70-2014, NQA-1 requirements.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance standards required on NNSA/DOE projects.
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality and commercial practice standards is desired.
