Sector: Renewable Power Generation (Solar, BESS, Wind)

Location: UK – Remote Working

My client is a market leading Solar & BESS developer with a project portfolio of over 5GW across the UK.
Due the continued growth, they are now looking to hire an experienced Senior Development Project Manager to support the business as they continue to grow.

About the Role
In this role, the successful candidate will manage all aspects of solar / BESS projects from early development through to execution. This is a varied role that will involve leading and coordinating project teams and external stakeholders, monitoring budgets and project costs, leading client meetings and tracking progress of projects, amongst other responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing the development and / or delivery of electrical infrastructure projects.

The Role:

  • Manage solar and energy storage projects through the development process to construction.
  • Establish, lead and coordinate project teams, consultants and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project finances, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Analyse and report on project progress against programme and take projects through our internal gate check process managing cost and risk according to budget.
  • Present projects for Final Investment Decision.
  • Ensure projects are managed in line with internal policies and procedures and that all Health and Safety considerations are met.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in large infrastructure project management, specifically in renewable generation and storage projects.
  • Extensive experience within the development phase of renewable energy projects.
  • Construction experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in managing project finances under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with environmental and local community engagement standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
  • Adaptable, proactive work style.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK for site visits
