Construction Project Manager

£47 - £62.02 per hour

Morson are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to support construction projects for one of our prestigious defence clients based in Barrow-in-Furness. You would work across the major construction lifecycle supporting new builds, renovations and facilities management on site. You would be responsible for contractors on your project as well as the financial health of your project.

This role is being offered on an initial 12-month contract; full time on site. We’re ideally looking for someone with experience of managing construction projects within a highly regulated industry such as Defence, Aerospace or Nuclear. Site managers that also have experience of forecasting, budgeting and reporting would be considered. The role is being offered at a rate of £47 per hour PAYE or £62.02 per hour Umbrella.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contractors on site.
  • Advanced project reporting & scheduling.
  • Manage the construction lifecycle.
  • Manage risks to the success of the project. Apply appropriate PM methods and tools whether predictive or adaptive.
  • Accountable for supporting development and implementation of appropriately tailored PM practices.
  • Accountable for ensuring one or more aspects of PM practices in the project are suitable for purpose.
  • ·       Manage a budget.

Requirements

  • Experience of project management within a construction environment.
  • Construction or Health and safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or SMSTS
  • PM Qualification such as the APM Project Management Qualification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of PM policies, processes, procedures and systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of one or more Project Management tools techniques and practices.
  • Experience of building relationships and negotiating outcomes with internal stakeholders.
  • Problem solving skills for situations of moderate complexity in the field of PM, taking requirements and data from internal and external sources.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
