Pay Rates:

• PAYE: £26.79 per hour + holiday pay
• Umbrella: £36.00 per hour

Morson is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer for our Defence Manufacturing client in Stevenage. In this position you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective production of advanced products within a state-of-the-art assembly and integration facility.

Your Role:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

• Ensure products are built efficiently and within budget as part of a multi-project manufacturing environment.
• Compile and update detailed Manufacturing Instructions.
• Design, commission, and prove associated tooling.
• Support industrial validation processes, including FMEA and FAI activities.
• Resolve technical issues arising during the manufacturing process.
• Manage route card updates due to rework activities.
• Maintain configuration control by incorporating design modifications into Manufacturing Instructions.
• Support the Non-Conformance Process using SAP.

What You’ll Bring:

• A formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21) and Level 3 (ONC), or further education qualifications (HNC or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience within an engineering discipline.
• The ability to interpret design drawings and create Manufacturing Build Instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators.
• Experience in Electronic Sub-Assembly manufacturing and System-level builds.
• Knowledge of assembly processes for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.
• Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in group settings.
• A customer focused approach with the ability to recognise and respond to requirements.
• Familiarity with company processes and procedures, and effective communication skills across organisational levels.
