Morson is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer for our Defence Manufacturing client in Stevenage. In this position you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective production of advanced products within a state-of-the-art assembly and integration facility.
Your Role:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
- Ensure products are built efficiently and within budget as part of a multi-project manufacturing environment.
- Compile and update detailed Manufacturing Instructions.
- Design, commission, and prove associated tooling.
- Support industrial validation processes, including FMEA and FAI activities.
- Resolve technical issues arising during the manufacturing process.
- Manage route card updates due to rework activities.
- Maintain configuration control by incorporating design modifications into Manufacturing Instructions.
- Support the Non-Conformance Process using SAP.
What You’ll Bring:
- A formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21) and Level 3 (ONC), or further education qualifications (HNC or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within an engineering discipline.
- The ability to interpret design drawings and create Manufacturing Build Instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators.
- Experience in Electronic Sub-Assembly manufacturing and System-level builds.
- Knowledge of assembly processes for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.
- Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in group settings.
- A customer focused approach with the ability to recognise and respond to requirements.
- Familiarity with company processes and procedures, and effective communication skills across organisational levels.
