Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a market leading defence organisation to recruit a Technical Author for an initial 6 month contract. There is a rate of £40-£50 Umbrella Per hour on offer for the successful candidate.  The role would involve a hybrid working arrangement with 2-3 days a week on site in Stevenage and 2-3 days a week working from home.

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Author to join my clients team. The ideal candidate will have a talent for translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging documentation. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create and maintain high-quality materials that support our products and users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, and maintain technical documents, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, and online help resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze technical information.
• Organize and structure content to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
• Use documentation tools and content management systems to develop and manage content.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with company branding and style guidelines.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continually improve our documentation processes.

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Technical Author, Technical Writer, or similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to explain them clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with documentation tools such as [Adobe, Confluence, or Microsoft Word etc…].
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development processes is a plus.
