Morson are looking for an Engineering planner to work on a permanent basis at RNAS Yeovilton
Job Title: Planner
JOB PURPOSE
- Aircraft Technical administration and Task Planning
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
- Short-term maintenance planning using GOLDesp in liaison with the Engineering Controller.
- Liaising with the Fleet Planner and the Availability Manager in the planning of Pre-Input Maintenance Planning (PIMP) and Pre-Output Maintenance Planning (POMP) meetings. Represent Base Maintenance at PIMPs and POMPs as directed by the Manager.
- Maintaining an awareness of Forward and Fleet requirements and any potential changes to those requirements or changes to priorities.
- Provide support to development of the Joint Fleet Planning Tool software in co-operation with core personnel when requested.
- Monitor the planning progression of aircraft entering, moving through and leaving Base Maintenance and Storage.
- Ensuring that each aircraft within Base Maintenance has an “Aircraft Controller file” compiled for its duration of stay and that all work is accurately recorded to provide data to the management team.
- Continuous improvement of the Fleet Management and Planning processes. Monitor, record and collate the break-down of maintenance hour totals for all aircraft leaving (Storage & Zonal fleet).
- Maintain an electronic file to record current status and archive of all aircraft within Base Maintenance.
- Collate and maintain data for use in trend analysis by Maintenance Management.
- Triggering allotment of aircraft to and from the Forward and Sustainment Fleet.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience within the Military Aviation Environment (MAE) as an Aviation Engineer or equivalent Aviation Engineering Apprenticeship / civilian status, with a thorough and robust understanding of the MAE and its associated policies.
- Previous held 2nd signature with experience gained in a military ‘Air System Engineering’ position.
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of UK military Air System documentation and associated procedures with experience of Planning.
- Competent and literate IT Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a confident, effective approach to personal communications
- Must be trained, current and competent in the use of GOLDesp.
- Ability to communicate confidently with Senior Management, customers and staff by effectively expressing ideas and information in a clear, concise and professional manner in verbal, written and visual formats
- Thorough understanding of the engineering criteria and processes underpinning Continuing Airworthiness and safe operation.
- Awareness and understanding of an MRP Part 145 AMO.
