We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, focusing on life cycle costing (LCC) projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments of current positions based on individual life cycle milestones, formulating correct contractual claims with supporting evidence, and identifying gaps between claimed positions, unclaimed costs, and future requirements for project completion. Collaboration with various teams, including FM, Supporting units, and the Supply chain, will be essential to obtain necessary information and formulate accurate claims. The role also involves evaluating project works delivered by VFBS, managing claims to the client, and addressing inquiries arising from submissions.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct life cycle costing (LCC) assessments based on individual life cycle milestones.
Formulate accurate contractual claims with supporting evidence.
Identify gaps between claimed positions, current unclaimed costs, and future requirements.
Collaborate with FM team, Supporting units, and Supply chain to gather necessary information.
Evaluate project works delivered by VFBS and apply correct asset categorisation.
Establish suitable joint approaches for future works and work evaluation.
Manage claims to the client and address inquiries from submissions.
Skills
Balancing multiple project lines delivery with historical claims
Familiarisation with construction practices, including healthcare certifications and standards
Effective communication to obtain required information
Excellent efficiency in Excel large workbooks
Knowledge of COINS and CAFM system (beneficial)
3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying or similar environment
Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving
Cost management and quantity surveying expertise
Understanding of life cycle models based on individual asset conditions
Strong analytical skills to assess project data and cost accuracy
Software/Tools
Microsoft Excel
COINS (beneficial)
CAFM system (beneficial)
Certifications & Standards
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (desirable but not essential)
RICS membership or similar professional accreditation (desirable but not essential)
Understanding of hospital building standards, infection control requirements, NHS building specifications, and specialized materials suitable for healthcare environments
