Principal Civil Engineer – Infrastructure

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000

Job Description 

We are working with a consultancy who are seeking a Principal Civil Engineer for their highly regarded Infrastructure Team. The successful candidate will work on a range of projects spanning commercial, Education, Healthcare, Housing, Industrial, Leisure and Residential sectors, providing engineering design and client support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading teams of engineers and technicians in the delivery of civil & structural engineering projects
  • Responsible for co-ordinating delivery of structures, drainage and highways elements of projects
  • Responsible for the development and ongoing management of design delivery programmes
  • Responsible for the analysis and design of drainage systems and highways, progressing to overall design of these elements.
  • Ability to develop drainage and highway designs using Design/Analysis software.
  • Visiting sites and attending site meetings
  • Involvement in internal and project design meetings.
  • Attend external design meetings with clients and other design team members.
  • Prepare correspondence and reports.
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Managing Workload of self and others
  • Undertaking design reviews to provide a technical audit of designs undertaken by other engineers

About the Team:

A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy focused on projects across the UK.

The team comprises 38 members with varying levels of experience, providing strong support and mentorship opportunities.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering

  • Strong collaboration skills for working with clients and design teams.
  • Knowledge of UK legal processes and procedures for planning approvals.
  • Experience in engineering levels design, drainage design, and Section 38, 278, and 104 adoption procedures.
  • Proficiency in technical software such as Microdrainage, Flow, and AutoCAD.
  • Eagerness to develop and improve skills.
