Senior Health and Safety Consultant / Principal Designer - Sunderland, Tyne and Wear (hybrid) - multi-disciplinary consultancy with operations across the North-East, supporting a varied client base including healthcare, education, commercial. Responsibilities:-
Providing Health & Safety Services.
Providing Principal Designer/Principal Designer Advisor Services under CDM2015.
Production of pre-construction information, files and other associated CDM documents.
Ensuring Designer compliance.
Reviewing contractors’ documentation.
Interfacing with clients and design teams on project basis.
Conducting site Health & Safety inspections/audits.
Advise clients on procurement options and consultant appointment issues.
Pro-active in business development of the Services within the Region.
Keep updated with current legal developments in respect of construction safety
Requirements:-
NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate.
A member of APS, IOSH and/or CIOB or working towards.
A relevant design or construction related qualification (preferred but not essential).
Good IT skills and working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the component parts of CDM 2015 and other Health & Safety issues.
Strong Communication skills - experience of communicating with people at differing levels effectively through oral and written communication.
Client facing skills - experience of working with clients at a strategic/operational level and managing the relationships effectively.
Strong Planning and Organising skills - able to prioritise workload and deadlines and manage change effectively.
Effective problem resolution skills - solution orientated with the ability to manage problems and complaints assertively.
Teamwork skills - ability to work with others to achieve team and personal targets or objectives.
