Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Salary: £40,000-45,000/annum (DOE)
Working hours: Monday to Friday (37.5hrs/week, 08:30-16:30, office-based)

As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking a talented and experienced Management Accountant.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the production of full management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, and will oversee a small finance team (two Finance Assistants and a Credit Controller).
This role is ideal for someone who is actively studying ACCA/CIMA or is qualified by experience, with proven experience in management accounts production. You will need to be confident in your technical accounting skills, IT systems, and Excel, with a proactive and hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full production of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Managing and mentoring a team of two Finance Assistants and a Credit Controller to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Overseeing prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, and journals.
- Reviewing and ensuring accurate bank reconciliations.
- Cashflow management and forecasting to support business decision-making.
- Providing support and cover for Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger, ensuring financial controls are maintained.
- Assisting with the annual external audit and liaising with auditors.
- Supporting the Finance Director with financial analysis and reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in producing full management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Either studying ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
- Previous team management or mentoring experience within a finance team.
- A proactive and hands-on attitude

- Strong IT and Excel skills.
