Job Title: Senior Mechanical Designer

Location:

Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Huddersfield

Job Type:

Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job Duties:

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for manufacturing processes
• Create detailed drawings and specifications using CAD software (Solid Edge preferred)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements
• Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to validate design solutions
• Provide technical support during the manufacturing and installation phase
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge and Skills:

• In-depth understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Professional certification in Mechanical Design
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
