Morson are recruiting for a Production Planner (Hybrid role) for a leading maritime defence company based at Portsmounth Naval Base. . (Shipbuilding) This role will be site based although 1 

Morson are seeking Production Planner professionals within manufacturing planning or maintenance scheduling OR ship repair. Experience. Experience is flexible and those who have worked within other industries such as construction or working with the production of raw materials, are encouraged to apply.

Production Planner Pay rates:

£27.95 per hour PAYE plus £4.06 per hour Holiday pay /
£36.88 Umbrella - please enquire

working hours 7.30am-4.15pm Mon-Thursday. Friday 7.30am-12.30. SITE BASED.
37 hours per week

Duration : 12 month contract although highly likely to be long-term -please enquire

Production Planner Role overview:

To convert customer requirements into production ready tasks, suitable for integration into a deliverable project schedule whilst remaining simple to prepare and deliver.

Planning Skills, experience and knowledge required:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications and customer requirements and liaise with customer where necessary to resolve technical issues.
  • PC literate and competent with Microsoft Excel/Access and able to use an ERP system without supervision to undertake the planning role.
  • Awareness of general H&S/Environmental regulations and safe working practices
  • Refit/installation/repair experience in a shipyard environment desirable but not essential
  • Working knowledge of /Commercial platforms and systems along with MoD systems (desirable) and references for technical data such as BRs etc.
  • Logical, analytical and structured approach to problem solving
  • Self management and motivation to identify and deliver tasks within acceptable time frames with minimal guidance and supervision
  • Able to support other team members and monitor own and team progress against planned delivery and quality targets and to contribute to continuous improvement of the planning function.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally / written
