Our client Scottish Power are currently recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join their team based in Glasgow on a contract basis initially. Ideally for this role they are looking for someone with an understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation applicable to construction projects particularly Construction, Design and Management Regulations (2015). Understand requirements of managing contractors and resource planning. Be able to construct programmes of work associated with engineering and delivery requirements. The role of Civil Project Engineer sits within the Transmission Substation Operations function of the SP Energy Networks business. Working with the Operational Support Civil section you will have ownership and accountability for delivery of elements of the Transmission Civil programme (both Opex and Capex) with output volumes as agreed with the Senior Civil Project Engineer. Works will be associated with Refurbishment, Investment and Maintenance activities of the Civil infrastructure.
In this role you will liaise with internal and external resources, prepare appropriate pre-construction information, read and understand any necessary surveys/reports, deliver projects in conjunction with our service partners and monitor/report contractor activities. We will look to you to capture feedback and issues from operational safety and compliance audits, quality audits and address any non-conformances. and strive to deliver objectives. You will be responsible for delivery requirements from a cost, efficiency and safety point of view ensuring sites are managed safely and any environmental risks are suitably mitigated with access for continued maintenance and operational activities established.

Specifically, this role will be assisting SPT Operations Civil Department with delivery of the reinforced aerated autoclaved concrete (RAAC) remediation programme.
The successful candidate will:
• Have a qualification in civil engineering, construction, or project management (or equivalent experience)

• Understand health, safety, and environmental legislation applicable to construction projects particularly Construction, Design and Management Regulations (2015)

• Understand requirements of managing contractors and resource planning

• Be able to construct programmes of work associated with engineering and delivery requirements

• Be able to maintain accurate records for all project works and update upon completion.

• Be able to track and update (via monthly reporting) on work delivery.

• Have previous experience with Temporary Works in construction (preferable, but not essential)

• Have a high degree of computer literacy

• Hold a current full UK driving licence
