And right now, we’re looking for a Maintenance Engineer for a 18 month Fixed Term Contract. Based at our Capenhurst site location you’ll work as part of the Maintenance Team to identify opportunities for improvements within Maintenance in order for the department to work more efficiently and effectively. To provide technical advice and support to the Maintenance teams and to manage contracts to seek optimal value to the business. To maintain, sustain and improve site systems – inclusive of support / submission / management of minor and major capital investment projects.

What will your day look like?

  • Lead efforts to increase the efficiency of the department.
  • Manage small technical projects in accordance to correct procedures.
  • Evaluate Maintenance Process

-          Collate improvement opportunities.

-          Evaluate and prioritise maintenance process opportunities.

-          Evaluate and prioritise technical opportunities.

  • Provide technical support to the Maintenance Department
  • Root cause analysis
  • Detailed analysis on plant systems
  • . Lead problem solving sessions and drive completion of actions.
  • Research equipment / components.
  • Training / development

-          Highlights opportunities for on-the-job training

-          Provides technical on the job training to Maintenance personnel.

-          Provide input for training to all end users for any new and modified systems.

  • Lessons learned.

-          Lessons learned from experience are documented and archived.

-          Lessons learned are communicated internally and externally.

  • Improves the performance of the Maintenance Teams
  • Responding to complex breakdowns

What do you need to be great at this role?

  • Degree in Engineering, Science or Technical Discipline
  • Member of Engineering Institute
  • Incorporated Engineer status (IEng)
  • Other specialisms depending on engineering role (legionella, asbestos, site systems).
  • Experience in structured problem solving and route cause analysis.
  • Good communication and customer liaison skills to be able to identify and understand requirements and to gain confidence in solutions provided.
  • Ability to communicate in non-specialist, business focused terms.
  • Proficient in the use of site computer systems and applications as appropriate for the role (e.g. Microsoft word, SAP, email)
  • Business awareness & commercial focussed
  • In-depth knowledge of all maintenance activities carried out on site.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation requirements in a highly regulated environment
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance working instructions, permits and procedures to ensure all standards are met.
  • The capability of understanding electrical drawings, instrumentation drawings, mechanical drawings, and Process Flow Diagrams.
