Inspiring tomorrow's tech innovators | Morson partners with Manchester Tech Festival
Morson is thrilled to be a founding partner of Manchester’s first not-for-profit tech community event.
Manchester Tech Festival is the first event of its kind that is organised by Greater Manchester’s tech community, for Greater Manchester’s tech community, and will bring together the entire tech ecosystem during a week-long programme of free events from Monday 17th to Friday 21st October.
The festival will unite thousands of tech delegates, spanning software engineers, start-ups and scale-ups, investors, product owners, practitioners and more, to help people and organisations learn, create, thrive, and ultimately shape Greater Manchester’s tech scene.
Five consecutive days comprising more than 40 free events will include meetups, popups, lectures, hackathons, discussions, debates and socials, together with a two-day speaker-led exhibition and conference at the city’s iconic Victoria Baths.
Morson Group, MoneySuperMarket, Booking.com, BJSS and Venturi are among Manchester Tech Festival’s founding partners and confirmed speakers, alongside headline sponsor, Oscar Technology.
Amy Newton, festival director at Manchester Tech Festival, said:

Our mission is to establish an annual festival that represents Manchester’s true tech self. Manchester Tech Festival is the people’s festival. We want to give a voice to everyone in Greater Manchester’s vibrant tech scene, showcasing that it’s our time to reign.
The festival will examine how Greater Manchester’s tech community can achieve their goals through shared experiences, highlighting successes and failures.
Attendees will witness first-hand what it’s like to be part of the UK’s most vibrant regional hotspots for tech, whilst hearing from and networking amongst some of the combined authority’s biggest and most innovative names within the sector.
Ged Mason, CEO at Morson Group, said:
“Manchester Tech Festival will celebrate everything great about the tech sector right on our doorstep. Greater Manchester’s tech scene is one of the best in the world, yet the sector faces an increasing skills shortage that’s only been accelerated further by the pandemic; and this is coupled with the thousands of new roles expected over the coming decade. The festival is a unique opportunity to connect, collaborate and inspire tomorrow’s tech innovators. As a family-formed business with our roots firmly anchored in Greater Manchester, it’s important that we support such programmes, and I’m looking forward to an inspiring week of events as we come together with our peers to build inclusive futures.
Greater Manchester has a thriving ecosystem, a history of innovation and a deep talent pool, making it the perfect place for innovative digital and technology companies looking to drive the industry’s future.
