Job Description:

A vital new role with Marshalls Land Systems (https://marshalladg.com/) working with relocation workstream leads to provide sourcing expertise to secure the best possible deals and contracts with key capital and facilities purchases for their new facility. The role will primarily involve purchasing SQEP resource to support the relocation project to provide supplier tendering and sourcing as well as negotiation and contracting expertise to work across and support the majority of workstreams relating to the relocation project

*70% of the role will be based on site at Marshalls production facility in Cambridge (postcode is CB5 8RX) the rest will be home/remote working*

Duties:

  • Work with Global Category Team to ensure sourcing strategy is aligned to preferred suppliers
  • Report sourcing progress to workstream leads and functional manager to ensure alignment to project timelines
  • Support the development and delivery of purchased capital goods and services budgets as part of main workstreams and associated purchases
  • Deliver supply solutions that achieve or better the budget
  • Assess and report consequences for existing contracts
  • Identify, report and manage cost and supply risks associated to purchased goods/services
  • Ensure all purchasing and business approvals required, are managed in accordance with the latest functional and business level DoA
  • Analysis of purchasing data for advanced preparation of part/material requirements for future inputs
  • Use Microsoft applications to assist in data analysis, stock ordering and project purchasing.
  • Managing suppliers to improve performance, pricing and lead times. Understand suppliers delivery chain and set delivery rules.
  • Monitor their performance. Discuss areas of improvement as required
  • To ensure the on-time availability of material in line with the business requirements
  • To ensure an effective flow of materials both in to the business and despatch to our external customers, including Goods Inwards Inspection, Product Test Schedule Activity and resolution of non-conforming products
  • Identify any materials risk and take appropriate mitigating action.
  • Identify the most effective delivery methods of materials into the organisation
  • To coordinate the management of the legacy slow moving, redundant and obsolete stock

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in an Aerospace/engineering/manufacturing organisation ESSENTIAL
  • Prior Experience with MRP/ERP systems and Excel ESSENTIAL
  • Proven material management experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven decision-making experience
  • A proactive approach to work
