Morson are recruiting a Subcontract Procurement Manager to lead and manage the delivery of supply chain capability for key customer contracts/ projects or complex goods and services in line with lifecycle and assurance frameworks, tailored to meet the needs of the project and likely to include: management of sub-contractor deliverables supplier development and performance management contract management mitigation of financial and non-financial risk to ensure margins are maintained and, continuous improvement activities through supplier and stakeholder intimacy.
• Manage the procurement and supply chain team to ensure the teams provide procurement expertise, source, negotiate, contract and manage services to meet the needs of the business.
• The role will involve creating procurement solutions, requiring the job holder to plan, deliver and deploy appropriate procurement and supply chain interventions and resource in support of business
aims.
• Contribute and influence the delivery of the functional and business units financial performance.
This is a 10 month hybrid contract, canddiates MUST be ok to work 2 - 3 days/week on site in Christchurch with the rest of the time from home.
Key Responsibility Areas
• As part of Procurement Delivery Team ensure the Procurement and subcontract strategies are being enacted to deliver in accordance with Customer (Prime) contract commitments.
• Manage and direct all Procurement Delivery and in-contract activities in conjunction with Commercial, Bid Management, Project and Technical teams, for your assigned area including: subcontract
construct contract negotiation contract implementation through life monitoring of supplier deliverables, risk disposition, performance against defined targets of performance, cost and delivery.
• Support follow on bids/projects (where appropriate) and all requisite follow on sub-contract/supplier relationship management activities within reasonably defined areas of responsibility.
• Ensure that critical supplier relationships are cultivated, developed and maintained so as to allow the business to fully meet customer current and future needs.
• Manage and influence internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure the product or service provision:
o Meets the governance & quality requirements of the business and our customers.
o Provides competitive advantage by applying market knowledge and commercial acumen to drive value and innovation, decrease risk and support CSR targets through the supply chain.
o Manage flow down of terms from Customer contract to the supply chain in order to protect BAE Systems’ position.
o Drives a continuous improvement philosophy through the supply chain keeping Digital Intelligence ahead of the game in terms of customer offerings.
o Delivers an optimized service, quality and cost offering to the customers and to deliver sustainable (measurable) service excellence through demonstrable customer satisfaction
o Achieves the required service level as agreed with internal stakeholders.
• Support the development and implementation of procurement strategy, governance and innovative change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in procurement services,
embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices.
• Manage contracts throughout their life in conjunction with the business.
• Lead and manage the risk and opportunity activities to minimise contractual exposure and maximise contract effectiveness.
• Implement and utilise all available tools and techniques, including relevant and applicable KPI’s to ensure effective monitoring of supplier performance and leading any associated improvement
plans/good practice share.
• Enable open communication with suppliers to encourage collaboration and innovation where appropriate.
• Manage and develop team to ensure procurement resources are deployed to best effective and that talent is managed in line with Functional requirements and changing business needs.
• Ability to deputise for the Senior Procurement Manager.
• Be seen by internal and external stakeholders as a subject expert and primary leader for the Procurement team within a business. Role holder will provide expertise, regularly partnering with
others to meet strategic goals.
The Individual Requirements
• Experience of working within Defence sector
• Have CIPS Level 5 qualification or equivalent standard.
• Excellent cross functional stakeholder management skills
• Coaching and supporting development as required.
• Ability to synthesise data to identify root cause and inform robust business decisions.
• Ability to utilise the collective experience and knowledge within the team to deliver effective solutions.

o Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound (SMART)
o Sufficiently granular to observe deviation from desired goals early enough to correct plans
