Job Description:
Morson Talent is seeking a highly skilled B2 Licensed Engineer for a helicopter manufacturer located at Oxford Airport, the heart of the UK’s civil helicopter industry. The role involves maintaining and certifying the Airbus H135/H145 rotorcraft, supporting both civil and military applications. As the chosen provider for the Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) Defence Helicopter Flying School (MFTS), the successful candidate will contribute to ensuring the operational readiness of these aircraft at key RAF sites including RAF Shawbury and RAF Valley.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support: Provide engineering support to flight operations, ensuring safe and effective aircraft performance.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform maintenance inspections and non-routine repairs, including avionic and electrical system repairs, as directed by the nominated Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE) Supervisor.
- Leadership and Quality Control: Lead a maintenance team, ensuring high standards are met for the safe operation of aircraft.
- Avionic System Maintenance: Replace and test avionic line-replaceable units (LRUs) to confirm their serviceability.
- Supervision: Oversee avionic and electrical fitters, certifying their work as compliant with regulatory standards.
- Technical Work: Carry out off-aircraft avionic and electrical technical work in the Avionic Workshop when required.
- Aircraft Hangar Management: Assist in day-to-day operations of the aircraft hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping.
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
- Comprehensive knowledge of helicopter avionic and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with specialized test equipment for avionic and electrical systems.
- In-depth understanding of:
- Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations, specifically Part 145 and Part M (Continued Airworthiness Management).
- Flight and airport operations.
- Aircraft line maintenance procedures.
Desirable:
- Understanding of UK Military Aviation and Military Flying Training System (MFTS).
- Experience with ERP systems like SAP for inventory and maintenance management.
Qualifications and Training:
Essential:
- CAA Part 66 B2 License.
Desirable:
- Type rating and experience on Airbus H135/H145 rotorcraft.
Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years in a certifying role, with experience in flight operations and line maintenance.
Desirable:
- Experience working with Airbus Helicopter products.
- Familiarity with military aviation procedures and standards.
