The Airframe Repair Technician works in a highly challenging yet equally rewarding environment, playing a key role in generating aircraft for the RSAF customer. The role is therefore extremely high profile and involves interfacing with other departments and organisation such as SMSCMC, Workshops, Quality, Product Safety, MODSAP etc.
Work involves a balance between undertaking on-aircraft and component maintenance. Activities as a consequence vary on a day to day basis.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintaining good engineering practices and compliance with RSAF Technical Orders in all aspects of the Airframe Repair work area i.e. on aircraft or component maintenance.
• Component Maintenance, inspects, surveys, evaluates, installs repairs, maintain, troubleshoots, services, overhauls, modifies and tests off aircraft systems components whilst undergoing OJT to gain levels of certification of own work.
• On-aircraft, installs, repairs, services, modifies and tests aircraft systems.
• Ensures work is carried out in accordance with the standards and procedures detailed within the MOE.
• Ensures strict tool control is carried out in accordance with tool control procedures.
• Managing spare part requirements using the Gold ESP logistics system.
• Be able to provide functional guidance to the SNTTP programs in respect of any engineering issues that may arise.
• Carry out TCTO’s and Special inspections when directed
• Development of assigned SNTTP trainees
RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Have at least 5 years post qualification relevant experience supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP).
• Relevant type training (Q Course) and specific training if required.
• Must have a sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to his work area.
• Must have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels.
• Be able to work in close harmony in a mixed EE/SN workforce.
• An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
• Post holder must be HF trained.
• Hold a current driving license.
CORE (Q3) FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
• Demonstrate the ability to verbally communicate to a high standard on matters of a technical nature. .
• Setting high standards for good housekeeping practices in the work area and ensuring the FOD prevention program is maintained to the highest standard.
ITAR RESPONSIBILITIES
• ITAR awareness is required.
PRODUCT SAFETY & SHE RESPONSIBILITIES
• All employees are responsible for adherence to company SHE polices within the department and as such is responsible for ensuring all incidents, accidents or near misses are reported. The employee is responsible for ensuring all mitigation of risks is adhered to and audited as required
