Planner

Morson Talent currently have an opportunity available for Planner to work at or prestigious aerospace client in Yeovil. This is an initial 1 year contract, with potential of extension.

The Planning role is responsible for developing and maintaining the project master schedule in accordance with the contract, through direct liaison with other business functions. Ensuring the integrity of data throughout the project life cycle. Preparing reports to provide project status information to the programmes team and customer. Identifying schedule, cost variances, and work with the programme team and directly with business functions to establish corrective actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the schedule in accordance with the work breakdown structure (WBS), contracted scope, delivery dates, and financial baseline and procedures.
  • Work with the Project teams to ensure timely monthly updates.
  • Ensure the schedule and SAP data are aligned to identify any data inaccuracies and proactively strive to correct any issues.
  • Assess progress and analyse the impact of forecast changes (schedule and financial) to identify threats at the earliest opportunity.
  • Work with the project team to perform critical path and ‘what if’ schedules.
  • Control the project baseline (schedule and financial) to reflect any contracted amendments. Control the allocation of contingency reserve and updates to the schedule baseline ensuring alignment to the risk register.
  • Produce internal and customer reports to confirm the project cost and schedule variance, future key milestones and to include earn value analysis.
  • Generate purchase requisitions and perform service receipts to support project requirements
  • Provide planning support to the project teams.
  • Executing all activities in accordance with policy, procedure and processes.
  • Establishing and implementing standards and best practice across Programmes or projects
  • You are responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work, to co-operate with managers, supervisors and others to enable the company to meet its statutory obligations for health, safety and environment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in the planning and scheduling of complex tasks within an aerospace or similar industrial environment
  • Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft Project (as core planning tool) and other common Microsoft packages.
  • Excellent analytical and planning skills with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team setting and to provide leadership when required.
  • Effective & persuasive in building a network of contacts, creating strong relationships with the performing functional areas.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a clear focus on goals & priorities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
