Morson Technical Services are currently looking to recruit a Aircraft Safety and Training Controller to work at RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset. This is a permanent position. 

WMS Aviation Safety and Training Controller

Responsible To: Wildcat Safety, Quality and Regulation Manager

JOB PURPOSE
WMS Aviation Safety and Training Controller:
• Planning, organising and maintaining Wildcat Maintenance Support (WMS) training, requirements and associated records at RNAS Yeovilton.
• Managing the WMS Maintenance Event Management System (MEMS).
• Providing support to the Quality and HSE elements of the WSQRM team.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS

  • Planning, arranging and coordinating all Technical / Non-Technical training for WMS personnel.
  • The maintenance, upkeep and safe custody of all WMS Training records.
  • Liaison with and supporting the WMS Training and Development Controller regarding WMS Induction Training and Human Factors Training.
  • The control, recording and administration of the WMS MEMS.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Maintain and control individual Personnel Training Records IAW WMS OP 1102 & 1105 whilst ensuring that appropriate Training Records, Competencies and Qualifications are maintained and current to support Engineering Authorisations.
  • Maintaining the company Training Database for all WMS personnel and subsequent provision of future training requirement reports to all Managers with a three monthly forecast on a monthly rolling basis.
  • Advising the Management on training and qualifications required by personnel to support all aspects of current and future operations and their Engineering Authorisations.
  • Identify and arrange training for both Technical and Non-Technical internal / external courses in support of the contract via providers such as LH, Morson and MoD training agencies, or, where approved, direct to industry. This is a non-exhaustive list and encompasses all training requirements in support of the contract from Air System Platform courses through to support activities.
  • Acting as the focal point for the co-ordination and control of the WMS MEMS ensuring all occurrence reporting is recorded and actioned appropriately including DASOR / VOR / LASOR and investigations.
  • Provide HF Facilitation throughout WMS in line with the WMS Training Plan and RA 4806.
  • Co-ordinate and submit inputs for the monthly LH Aircraft Services Business Continuity Meeting.
  • Co-ordinate, align and to take an active role within investigations with regards to being the WMS Aviation Safety and Training Controller.
  • To assist with and undertake WMS Internal Audits, including a written report encompassing all relevant areas of operations and ensuring compliance throughout with MAA MRP Part 145 Regulatory Articles.
  • Provide reasonable support to the Quality and HSE elements of the WSQRM team.
  • Represent WMS at the DDH and Air Safety Group review meetings
  • Act as the secretary for the WMS Flight Safety Meetings.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previously worked in a Military Aviation Environment (MAE) as an Engineer or equivalent Engineering Apprenticeship / civilian status, with a thorough understanding of the MAE and its associated policies.
  • Competent and literate IT skills.
  • Experience and an understanding of the Maintenance Approved Organization Scheme (MAOS) including the MAA MRP Part 145 Approval process
  • Maintenance Human Factors Facilitator qualified.
  • Trained in Root Cause Analysis, Event Investigation and MAE Occurrence Reporting.
  • Relevant experience as an ISO 9001 / ISO 9100 Quality Internal Auditor.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a confident, effective approach to personal communications.
  • Demonstrate Initiative, Enthusiasm, Diligence and a Tenacious commitment to high Quality standards.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with Senior Management, customers and staff by effectively expressing ideas and information in a clear, concise and professional manner in verbal, written and visual formats.
