Project Manager

Location: Southampton

Join our dynamic team where we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality construction projects on time and within budget. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead and mentor our pre-construction and site teams, ensuring our projects run smoothly from inception to completion.

Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing, supervising, and mentoring the pre-construction and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Reviewing contractual agreements and collaborating with the Client, Contracts Manager, and Specialist/Suppliers to develop working methods, programme, and forecast costs, identifying any inaccuracies or inconsistencies.
  • Developing programmes and forecast budgets, assessing actual programme and productivity achieved, and reviewing weekly. Taking action where appropriate and reporting any changes to the Contracts Manager and Commercial department.
  • Being fully conversant with specialists’ contract conditions and positively managing the programme to ensure that appropriate specialists provide the necessary resources and skills.
  • Communicating with the site team and the commercial team regarding issues of non-conformances and contractual correspondence, ensuring comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.
  • Ensuring that inspection and test plans, risk assessments, and method statements for the control of the works are reviewed, approved, and adhered to.
  • Supervising site teams and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to maintain project progress and compliance.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree-level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering with vocational training in Engineering.
  • A solid understanding of Engineering Principles.
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
  • A relevant CSCS Card.
  • Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE).
  • Membership of the Association for Project Management (MAPM).
  • Vocational training with successful experience in project management.
