Electrical Draftsman (CAD)

Location: Shotton Mill, Weightbridge Road, Deeside
Duration: 10 months (until February 2026)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00 AM – 06:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

Job Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Draftsman (CAD) to create and manage electrical drawings for a large industrial project. You will work closely with the engineering team to produce Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and layouts, ensuring compliance with UK standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create and review SLDs as per project and UK regulations.
• Draft LV cabling layouts, lighting, lightning protection, and ELV systems, including:
  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Security Systems
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Data & Communication Networks
• Coordinate with engineers, BIM teams, and project managers.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with UK electrical codes.
• Maintain records of design changes and approvals.
• Support construction teams with up-to-date drawings.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
• Experience as an Electrical Draftsman (CAD) in construction/engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
• Strong knowledge of SLDs, LV/ELV systems, and UK electrical standards.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Valid permit to work in the UK.
