About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Controls Manager to join our dynamic team at a leading global design consultancy. The successful candidate will oversee the full spectrum of project control functions on large infrastructure projects, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with client specifications. You will be responsible for managing the planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and project performance monitoring across a range of infrastructure initiatives, including transportation, utilities, and urban development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Lead the development and management of detailed project schedules using appropriate planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Oversee the integration of project timelines across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- Monitor project performance, analyze schedule trends, and identify potential delays or issues.
- Provide proactive solutions to mitigate schedule risks and delays.
- Cost Control and Budget Management:
- Manage the project’s financial performance, ensuring costs are within approved budgets.
- Develop and maintain cost control systems, including cost forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
- Work with the project team to assess cost implications of design changes and schedule adjustments.
- Ensure financial controls are in place to accurately track expenditures and manage cash flows.
- Risk Management and Performance Monitoring:
- Lead risk identification, mitigation, and management strategies for all projects.
- Track, report, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating as necessary.
- Monitor and report on project performance metrics, providing regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Implement quality assurance and control processes to ensure deliverables meet project standards.
- Stakeholder and Team Coordination:
- Coordinate and liaise with internal teams, external contractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of the project.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the project control team, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Maintain effective communication channels with all stakeholders, including detailed reporting on project status, key milestones, and variances.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and present comprehensive project control reports, including progress, forecasts, and financials, to senior management and clients.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all project controls processes, plans, and changes.
- Maintain robust records for project audits and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in project controls processes and implement best practices.
- Contribute to the development of departmental procedures and the enhancement of project controls systems.
Key Skills and Experience
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., PMP, AACE, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Proven experience (8+ years) in project controls management for large infrastructure projects (e.g., transportation, utilities, urban development).
- Extensive experience with project controls tools and software, particularly Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong background in cost management, budgeting, and financial forecasting for infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience in risk management, project scheduling, and reporting.
- Technical Competencies:
- Expertise in project controls methodologies and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of project scheduling, planning, and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in cost control systems, financial tracking, and earned value management.
- Understanding of engineering processes and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Personal Skills:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Attributes
- Experience working on large, complex, multidisciplinary projects with diverse teams.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and its integration with project controls.
- Understanding of project lifecycle management, including planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
- Exposure to international projects and experience in working with global teams is a plus.
