TIG Welder

Morson Talent are currently recruiting for a TIG Welder to work on behalf of one of our reputable Aerospace clients based in Christchurch. This role is a contract until July 2025, with possibility of extension.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will perform TIG welding on a variety of high-quality metals, ensuring precision and compliance with aerospace standards. This includes interpreting technical drawings, inspecting materials, maintaining equipment, and documenting processes. Additionally, you may be required to repair, overhaul, and modify mechanical, pneumatic, heat transfer, electronic, air turbine, and electro-mechanical aircraft components. This involves diagnostic fault-finding, inspection, parts call-up, rebuilding, and testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements for quality, delivery, and turnaround times.

ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES:
Interpret Component Maintenance Manuals Service Bulletins & other Technical data approved by the regulator required to perform the Repair & Overhaul duties.
Perform a preliminary inspection of the unit to include a diagnostic test, disassembly, cleaning & component inspection.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
A flexible approach to work is required.
The ability to be able to function as part of a team within a lean manufacturing environment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Previous experience with TIG Welding within the Aerospace or similar industry. Also, experience of precision assembly work is desirable.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or similar Qualification.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

Full BPSS* Screening (*Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
