About the Role
As a Nuclear Safety Case Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting projects throughout the nuclear lifecycle, from next-generation reactor technologies to maintaining and enhancing existing facilities. You’ll collaborate with diverse teams to deliver innovative solutions and ensure safety and compliance across national and international projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
Producing and managing safety case documentation.
Conducting hazard and risk identification and assessment studies, such as FMEA, HAZOP, and ALARP.
Carrying out internal and external hazard assessments.
Performing deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments (PSA).
Supporting nuclear licensing and authorisation processes.
Integrating safety principles into engineering designs.
Contributing to structural integrity assessments of nuclear-related structures and components.
Additionally, you’ll engage with clients, regulators, and third parties to understand challenges and deliver solutions. You’ll also have the chance to mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of technical expertise across the business.
What We’re Looking For
Our client welcomes applications from individuals with experience in any of the areas listed above or those interested in transferring into nuclear safety case work. Comprehensive training and mentoring will be provided to support your transition.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
A degree (or equivalent experience) in a STEM discipline.
Experience delivering projects in line with relevant standards and best practices.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
Chartered status (or equivalent) with a professional institute, or progress towards it.
