We are currently seeking a Technical Export Control professional to join our team at the Gronau, Germany site. In this role, you will manage and provide expert advice on all export control matters, ensuring that all Urenco UTD projects comply with the required export regulations. You will play a key role in supporting the projects within Urenco and ensuring adherence to national and international export control laws.

What You’ll Do:

• Export Control Authority: Act as the main authority in resolving export control determination issues, ensuring proper compliance across all relevant projects.
• License Applications: Prepare and submit new export license applications (including via BAFA) for goods and technology exports within the Urenco Group.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure that Urenco complies with technology export licenses, providing guidance and advice on both existing and new licenses.
• Manage Knowledgebase: Oversee and maintain the export control knowledgebase, including classification records.
• Policy & Procedure Development: Maintain and enhance UTD Gronau’s internal export control policies and procedures to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Internal Guidance: Deliver timely, accurate, and professional export control advice to internal stakeholders, proactively supporting projects where export control expertise is required.
• Training & Development: Develop and deliver comprehensive export control training programs for UTD Gronau personnel, ensuring they are well-versed in relevant regulations and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the UTD Export Control department in the UK, contributing to the Urenco-wide Export Control working group.
• Support: Assist the Group Export Control Manager with matters related to UTD Gronau’s export control issues.

What You Need to Thrive in This Role:

• Regulatory Communication Experience: Proven ability to communicate effectively with regulatory bodies regarding export control matters.
• Export License Knowledge: Familiarity with export control license applications, particularly within Germany, and understanding of relevant export control lists and licenses.
• Industry Experience: Experience working within the energy or nuclear sector is highly desirable.
• Technical Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and drawings is a plus.
• Self-Motivated: Ability to manage and complete assignments independently, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
• Language Skills: Fluency in both German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Export Control Expertise: In-depth knowledge of export control lists, licenses, and regulations, with preference for knowledge of Dual-Use controls.
• Educational Background: A technical degree or relevant qualifications in fields such as Logistics, Import/Export, or similar areas of study.
