Commissioning Engineer

Summary:
Morson Talent is seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our substation build team to support a contract in South East England. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in testing and commissioning high voltage plant and apparatus onto the live 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV distribution network. You will work closely with the project teams, providing technical support and ensuring all plant and equipment are commissioned in compliance with current legislation and industry standards. Your responsibilities will include attending client meetings, producing detailed commissioning plans, resolving design issues, and supporting team members to enhance their technical knowledge.

Skills:

  • Proven track record in high voltage plant testing and commissioning
  • Strong understanding of engineering policy, procedure, and legislation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Teamwork and collaboration with clients and internal teams
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Ability to develop and improve operational processes
  • Qualified to HNC/Degree level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Mentoring and technical support for team members

Certifications & Standards:

  • Must hold relevant electrical engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC/Degree)
  • Knowledge of current health and safety standards and regulations
