Role: Land Acquisition Manager

Location: London – Flexible / Hybrid Working 

Main duties:
Reporting to the Head of Land, the Land Acquisition Manager will be responsible for identifying, securing, and qualifying new opportunities for large scale Solar PV, Wind, Battery Storage and Hydrogen projects. In addition to this, the following tasks will be required.

  • Identifying target areas with the grid team.
  • Securing land for grid connection applications.
  • Developing relationships with landowners, land agents and Introducers.
  • Negotiating option/lease/cable and access easement agreements.
  • Supporting Development team with land related matters
  • Presenting new business opportunities to Investment Committee

Required experience & qualifications

  • Five years’ experience in a land focused role, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Experience in face-to-face lead generation.
  • Experience in securing land rights for renewable energy projects.
  • An understanding of Planning Policy and how this may impact identified development opportunities
  • An existing network of relevant contacts
  • An understanding in Distribution/Transmission Networks
  • Highly self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously and meet individual targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised in time management, record keeping and task management
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident with the ability to be assertive when appropriate
  • Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position
  • RICS accreditation preferable
  • UK driving license
