Smart Grid Operations department is immersed in the delivery of T2 and ED2 strategic projects and at the same time are responsible for maintaining safe and reliable operations of Telecoms, RTS and Infrastructure networks. To grow in excellence there is a need to go through some key transformation projects.
This role will support projects which will transform the future of SMART Grid Operations. This should be delivered:
• Safely and without adverse impact to the environment
• Meeting the customer’s expectations
• Within authorised budget
• To a high standard of quality
• To the required timescales.

• Responsible for the management of identified projects throughout their full lifecycle from development through to final closeout
• Responsible for the delivery of outputs, incentive metrics and milestones in line with business targets. Effectively manage project risk and mitigate the impact of issues that may emerge
• Promoting a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders
• Responsible for the correct management and administration of contracts
• Responsible for the creation, management and monitoring of project plans
• Proactive stakeholder management at various levels of the organisation up to Director level
• Provide timely and accurate reporting on progress and risks and issues
• Provide support to and assist in the development of the wider Telecommunications Team
• Provide support to Head of Smart Grid Operations, SGO PMO and Telecommunications Manager on the Telecommunications Transformation Project
• Project manage business resources from various departments who are assigned to projects but with whom there is no direct line management responsibility

• Significant experience of delivering major projects in a comparable environment (energy or telecommunications)
• Project management methodology experience or qualification
• Change management / Business change
• Data analysis and forecasting
• Ability to devise solutions to complex problems and challenges
• Project risk management and control
• Procurement processes and procedures
• Financial control / forecasting / budget management
• Continuous Improvement skills
• Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
• Experience of contract management advantageous
• Health, safety and environmental legislation
• You will be required to plan and organise the resourcing associated with the project delivery of your project(s). This will be over the duration of the project which in many cases will be over 2-5 years. In addition, there may be a requirement to provide (or source) resources from other departments.
• You will be responsible for identifying risks and constraints and put together a plan to mitigate their impact
• You will be responsible for identifying and planning tasks across multiple teams, both internal and external and managing delivery of these

• Requirement to travel to across all SPEN locations
• Significant experience in project managing and delivering projects.
• Project Management Certification
• Degree in relevant subject
• Driving license
