We’re looking for an Internal Controls Manager 10-12 months FTC Based at our Stoke Poges location, moving to Paddington next year, you’ll have a significant role in the development & implementation of the Group’s internal financial controls environment and framework. This will include assisting in designing key elements as well as responsibility for delivery of core components. They will take a lead role in the support of wider internal controls improvement initiatives.

What you’ll do:

• Work with and influence senior stakeholders and departmental heads to define and establish minimum basic controls in core processes. Including consideration of how existing processes may need to be updated and agree changes required.
• Ensure that controls are adequately designed for all in-scope processes and agreed with control / business owners.
• Manage the fraud risk assessment process across the Group including implementation of the new system when designed, agreeing suitable controls and working with stakeholders to implement controls where needed.
• Provide guidance, support and direction to the business on effectively managing relevant controls risks and provide ad hoc controls advice / SME input for implementing effective and efficient controls.
• Deliver additional internal control improvement initiatives as required. This will include journal controls, balance sheet reconciliations, SAP SoD controls as well as other related projects.

What do you need to thrive in this role?

• Strong academic background.
• Chartered accountant qualification desirable.
• Significant experience of working in either a risk based / Sarbanes-Oxley / internal controls / internal audit discipline.
• Experience of influencing senior stakeholders to adopt new controls frameworks.
• Prior experience of controls testing, implementation or design of control frameworks.
• Adaptable and able to operate with minimal supervision across a range of functions and departments.
Ability to manage and deliver a portfolio of projects / workstreams concurrently.
• Strong understanding of risk and control principles, regulatory compliance, and relevant accounting principles
• Good communication skills
• Willing to travel as the job demands to URENCO offices in Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and the US (Circa. 25% travel)
