Morson are currently supporting the recruitment of a unique and interesting role focusing on the transfer of infrastructure knowledge and capability a leading shipbuilding build facility in the UK to partners in Australia. This role focuses on Infrastructure working closely with a team who will perform the same role focused on the other areas. Shipbuilding experience is advantageous but not necessary; however you should bring with you either some experience of technical requirements, or experience from an infrastructure role alongside at least 10 years within a project management environment.
The role is being offered on a 12-month contract, hybrid working Is available with a minimum requirement of 3 days a week on site in Barrow-in-Furness. Early working will also likely be needed with shifts as early as 5am – 3:30pm. The team will be looking to grow their permanent workforce over the next 12 months so there may be opportunities to convert into a permanent employee. We can offer the role at a rate £55 per hour PAYE or £72.57 per hour Umbrella inside IR35.
Responsibilities
- Project Manage the transfer or critical infrastructure operations.
- Working closely with shipbuilding colleagues and technical authors to ensure information provided is concise and accurate.
- Communicate with Australian colleagues to understand their requirements and pass on to relevant experts if you aren’t capable of answering queries yourself.
- Communicate over various video, telecoms and written channels.
- Applies appropriate PM methods and tools whether predictive approaches or adaptive approaches.
- Manage risks and opportunities.
Essential Requirements
- Experienced Project Manager with extensive knowledge of tools, techniques and practices.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office, Sharepoint and other It communication tools.
- Experience of influencing, communicating with and managing stakeholders.
- Diplomatic communicator able to pass queries and solutions between technical experts.
- Experienced working within project management in an engineering environment.
- Able to interpret Technical Requirements and/or knowledge of Infrastructure.
- Able to follow established procedures as well as know when to break from them to problem solve.
- Professional PM Qualification or years of practical experience gained through application of Project Management.
Desired Requirements
- Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure development, shipbuilding or manufacturing industries.
- University level education or professional qualifications gained through industry.
- Recognised as a Project Management practitioner.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
