Overview of Department:
The Nuclear Safety and Regulation Department oversee the nuclear regulation for site. The team exists to provide specialist advice to the business with regards to nuclear safety and site licencing and is a key part of maintaining the licence to operate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing support, independent advice, and guidance on the requirements of the Nuclear Site Licence, Authorisation and Environmental Permits to relevant business teams to ensure compliance with both statutory and contractual obligations
• Supporting and advising on the framework of arrangements to demonstrate compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, principles and standards governing nuclear and radiation safety and associated protection of the environment
• Supporting the delivery, maintenance and storage of key documentation required in support of Licences, Authorisations and Permits
• Supporting the ongoing development, review and maintenance of management arrangements/documentation owned by the department
• Supporting and advising on the deployment of the interface arrangements between the business and the external regulatory authorities (ONR, DNSR & EA) Influencing business management arrangements and ways of working
• Opportunities to get involved in other parts of the team
Keys Skills and Experience:
Essential:
• Stakeholder management experience – working and interfacing with various stakeholders incl. contractors, regulators and directors
• Experience of technical / report writing and persuasive written and persuasive written argument
• Experience of providing technical advice
• Ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements
Desirable:
• Experience in a high hazard regulated industry (nuclear preferred)
