Electronic Test Engineer
£25.31 - £37 per hour
Morson are currently recruiting for multiple Production Test Engineers for one of our distinguished defence clients based in Bolton. You would be responsible for testing and diagnosing electrical / electronic components in a manufacturing environment. Our client produces weapons systems for which you will test sub-systems and circuit cards during the production phase of the electrical components. You will use your experience to provide technical support to the manufacturing test capability, to ensure programme targets are met to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
The roles are being offered due to increased demand, and hence being offered on an initial 12-month contract basis with opportunities to extend or convert into a permanent role. Hybrid working is available, but the minimum expectation is 3 days a week on site. We can pay a rate of £25.31 per hour PAYE or £37 per hour Umbrella inside IR35.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a small team of dedicated engineers to provide testing support in a manufacturing environment.
- Diagnose electronic test failures.
- Provide test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor.
- Support the introduction of new electronic test equipment.
- Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to component level.
- Generating test specifications, and technical reports.
- Support meetings with Quality Control to provide updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations.
Essential Experience
- Substantial electronic test engineering experience.
- Experience diagnosing test failures down to component level
- Minimum HNC level of Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
- Understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement.
- Knowledge of fault diagnosis techniques, down to component level.
- Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration and test principles.
- Able to generate test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at the subsystem level.
- Experience in operating manual and automated test equipment in an Electronics Manufacturing environment.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
