Morson Talent are currently seeking an Estimating and Pricing Specialist to work on the behalf of our aerospace client based in Bristol.

The Estimating & Pricing Specialist role will provide functional support and business partnering to an exciting and diverse portfolio of new business opportunities and campaigns across our client’s organisation. Working in partnership with stakeholders this role offers challenging and diverse opportunities including the development of accurate cost and price models, risk mitigation and pricing strategies, improving our competitive advantage, client engagement, creating enduring profitable business propositions and optimising the use of available data for improvement initiatives. This is a full-time role with hybrid working options, based out of our Bristol site.

Responsibilities:
• Leads development of complex estimates and pricing for technical requirements through the design, build and support stages of the programme
• Leads development and application of pricing strategies using innovative computational techniques
• Supports business proposals: evaluates and makes recommendations based on complex requests for proposal, and substantiates the basis of estimates and pricing methods/data
• Develops complex pricing models and business cases
• Leads and performs complex analysis and provides recommendations in support of key pricing and estimating aspects (eg risk, financial, competitive)
• Assures that technical requirements map to and meet solutions and are adequately costed, with challenges applied to ensure best value for money
• Reviews and maintains cost and pricing data, determining database requirements and identifying new data sources
• Leads the application and maintenance of unique and non-unique rates and factors for estimating
• Provides guidance and recommendations for innovative approaches, methods and techniques to analyse, evaluate and resolve complex finance issues
• Supports development of pricing rates and internal budget setting, optimising internal structures to ensure “market affordability”
• Implements policy for trading on Qualifying Defence Contracts
• Supports customer interactions on estimated rates, actual rates, cost assurance audits and cost model verification

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Educated to degree level, preferably in a mathematical, financial or business-related discipline
• Strong IT proficiency (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• A positive work attitude and team building approach
• An adaptable and resilient character, able to cope with changing requirements and multiple priorities
• Business partnering and influencing skills able to explain and troubleshoot financial concerns with non-finance professionals
• Prior experience of pricing bid and proposal activity is desirable
• Prior experience of contracting with the UK Ministry of Defence or equivalent is desirable

Security Clearance
This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance.
