Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a market leading defence organisation to recruit a Supply Chain Assistant for an initial 12 month contract. There is a rate of £23.67 PAYE Per Hour or £30.77 Umbrella on offer for the successful candidate.  There is a hybrid working arrangement on offer with a split between time spent onsite in Portsmouth and working from home.

To support my client with the Supply Chain elements to deliver a world class quality product within a timely manner and to budget. They are looking for an already established Supply Chain Professional that can hit the ground running, and is adaptable and flexible to take on tasks as delegated, and work both individually and within a team to deliver to cost, time and quality for both goods and services. 

Core Duties

• Product information record updates (including Export control status)
• To generate Initial Provisioning Spares (IP) Request for Quotations (RFQ’s).
• To generate / facilitate managing of RFQs / PO’s for Ship Training Requirements
• RFQ check meeting with Suppliers with clarification meetings back and forth with project team?
• Placing and managing IP Spares purchase orders + other purchase orders are required
• Expediting and reviewing Supplier delivery paperwork (delivery notes / transport information/ invoicing)
• Expediting the delivery of goods
• Managing a 3rd party warehouse delivery process (booking delivery and paperwork completion)
• Liaising with the logistics team on delivery and product returns process.
• Ability to F-2-F at all levels both internally / externally as needed to deliver requirement, with the ability to challenge as appropriate.
• Flexibility for working dependant on Suppliers location, and project needs.

Knowledge:

- Training, Spares and CDRl requirements (RFQ’s Courses and Infrastructure + P/o )
- ADR (additional data requirements) (RFQ’s + P/o)
- Complete remaining contract terms and conditions negotiation with Suppliers
- Good basic knowledge of T&Cs
- Understanding of logistical processes to deliver end product / services

Skills:

- Good understanding of Excel and ability to produce and present workings, presentations with confidence to seniors within the business.
- Experience of SAP would be an advantage
- Confidence to own and run with problems, bringing them to the suitable conclusion.
- Ability to step in for management team as necessary to respresent the function / business.
