Location: Telford (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)
Contract: 6 months

Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer looking for an exciting contract role? We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our defence client RBSL at their manufacturing facility in Telford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with a team of experts in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will report directly to the Head of Manufacturing Engineering. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert within your discipline, providing technical authority, guidance, and leadership. Your role will involve defining and leading discipline-specific policies while identifying business opportunities to drive improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert technical advice and governance within manufacturing engineering.
Chair and coordinate multi-functional team meetings, ensuring effective communication and progress tracking.
Support Procurement in capacity analyses, risk mitigation, and supplier selection.
Develop and maintain comprehensive manufacturing instructions, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Lead pre-production readiness activities, including quality demonstrations, operator training, and tooling assessments.
Offer lineside manufacturing support, driving productivity improvements through innovative methodologies.
Conduct problem-solving activities using techniques such as Kaizen, TAKT analysis, VSM, and PFMEA.
Ensure safe working practices, liaising with SHE teams to promote best practices and compliance.
Manage tooling requirements and oversee ERP processes, including MBoM creation and updates.
What We’re Looking For
Engineering Degree with experience in Manufacturing Engineering (preferred).
Strong knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and relevant Engineering standards.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Proficiency in SAP and Teamcenter (mandatory).
Ability to attain and maintain SC security clearance (mandatory).
Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe (desirable).
German language skills (desirable).
