Morosn Technical Services are currently seeking an Aircraft Simulator Technician to join our Merlin CLS Team based at RNAS Yeovilton on a permanent basis working a shifts routine.
Purpose –
- To assist the Authority Chief Instructor (ACI) and Synthetic Training Equipment Manager (STE) with the achievement of all STE availability related Key Performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide on-site engineering support for all delivered STE this may include, but is not limited to:
- Morning readiness and system start up
- Preventative and Corrective maintenance
- Spare part installation and integrity testing
- Inventory management
- STE training preparation
- Issue collection and reporting
- End of day shut down
- Ensuring that all activities undertaken on STE are carried out with minimal impact to the training delivery schedule
Knowledge Skills and Experience –
- An understanding of the complexities of delivering a Training Service and the technical support of multiple synthetic training devices
- An understanding of IT networks and infrastructure
- Strong communication with the ability to liaise with other Support SME’s and second line support
- Ability to work to demanding deadlines, in a customer facing role
- Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Determination to contribute to the development of a ground breaking Training Service, to achieve the highest quality and standards
- Ability to service the STE to the highest quality and standards
- Ability to implement change, maintain service progress & improvements
- Strong PC literacy with an excellent understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) applications.
- Ability to demonstrate and understanding of military aviation terminology.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills in electronic and mechanical workshop practices:
- Soldering, crimping and circuit board repairs.
- Health & Safety Procedures
- Appropriately use a range of digital and analogue electronics diagnostics and measuring equipment.
- Safely undertake cutting, filing, boring and dressing a range of materials as used in simulation and aircraft manufacture.
