£27.94 per hour
Full Time - Working patten – 3 days in the office/ 2 day at home.

We are recruiting a Exterior Design Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities

- Development of exterior trim parts to meet the design/performance and styling intention.
- Design release of parts on time and on budget.
- Supplier management including design, test, quality and timing to achieve key project milestones.
- Clear and concise reporting of concerns and part development/delivery issues.
- Responsible for the development of exterior trim parts primarily plastic injection moulding.
- Working with styling, project management, purchasing, test and manufacturing departments to take exterior trim parts from design concept to manufacture.
- Managing parts and suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery targets.
- Rear end design (bumpers, spoilers, back door finishers) and side/door mouldings.
- BOM management
- Travel is required to other Nissan facilities, for build support and design reviews, as well as suppliers for part inspections and technical meetings.
- The contractor would not be required to provide training to others, but would be expected to actively participate in design reviews sharing their knowledge and experience.
- The primary place of work will be NTCE but flexible working from home in line with the rest of the business will be allowed.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Experience in car industry is very welcome.
- Experience in front & rear end design, including bumpers, grills, spoilers, back door finishers and side mouldings would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Siemens NX CAD and Teamcenter or similar CAD software.
- Proficiency in mechanical engineering.
- Time management and prioritisation skills to confidently manage multiple projects within set deadlines.
- Communication language – English (fluent)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package
(Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Strong communication and presentation skills (Powerpoint)
- Valid driving license
