Job Title: Vehicle Evaluation & Customer Experience Engineer (945)
Location: Cranfield
Pay: £29.00 per hour
We are seeking a Vehicle Evaluation & Customer Experience Engineer to join a globally recognised automotive company in Cranfield. This is a long-term contract role with the potential to last several years.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vehicle Testing & Evaluation:
o Conduct dynamic (on-the-move) and static (stationary) vehicle testing.
o Perform customer-focused evaluations, assessing vehicles from a users perspective.
2. Competitor Benchmarking:
o Carry out assessments of competitor vehicles to understand industry standards and trends.
3. Project Management:
o Manage various projects including raising development concerns, tracking issues through to closure, and ensuring deadlines are met.
4. UI/UX Focus:
o Special emphasis on User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) development, which is essential in today’s automotive landscape.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
o Work with multiple departments and teams within the organization to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
6. Reporting & Presentations:
o Prepare and present professional engineering test results.
o Provide detailed automotive benchmark reports and market trend analyses.
o Clearly communicate customer needs and requirements in both verbal and written form.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
• Education: Degree level qualification or equivalent.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
o Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, particularly based on data analysis.
o Skilled in writing clear, concise reports and providing effective verbal explanations and recommendations.
• Industry Knowledge:
o Experience with vehicle development processes and vehicle performance metrics.
o Knowledge or experience in UI/UX development or automotive connected services is preferred.
Additional Information:
• Work Hours: Core hours from Monday to Thursday (08:00-17:00) and Fridays (08:00-13:20).
• Hybrid Working: Minimum 3 days on-site per week, though this depends on business needs.
• Travel: Flexibility to travel for work is preferred.
Other:
o Must possess a valid UK driving license.
o Ability to clearly communicate in English in a professional business setting.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in the automotive sector, particularly in vehicle testing and UI/UX, and offers a balance of hands-on work, project management, and reporting responsibilities.
