Lead Engineer (DSR updates) – Construction/Nuclear – Contract (Remote) - £50 p/h (Umbrella) – Monthly visit to site
My client provides major new or upgraded dock, berth and building infrastructure projects to provide facilities for ship and submarine sustainment programmes. As a Senior Engineer youll work with multi-discipline infrastructure system designs to provide an overall sustainment capability. My client needs someone in the lead engineer role to support the design manager on the technical side
Duties:
- The technical management of the DSR Updates work package resources and delivery.
- The checking and review of all technical output from the DSR Updates work package.
- Identification of the extant DSRs that require updating in support of the safety claims made
- Updating (i.e. authoring and checking of) the extant DSRs.
- Input into the Facility Level Design Report as required
- Ensure that the produced documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and Operations & Integration Manager, and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
- Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the project’s technical planning process.
- Ensuring effective Quality Management Arrangements, operate and deliver through compliance with the Business Management System and Technical Manual.
- Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
Candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering activities through design, implementation and operation and with a core focus on safety.
- Understanding of the UK laws and regulations pertaining to Nuclear Licenced Sites.
- Working knowledge of the international codes and standards pertinent to the design of nuclear structures.
- Knowledge of construction criteria necessary for nuclear facilities.
- Working knowledge of M&E services design and installation.
- Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements
- Working knowledge of relevant engineering office computer applications.
