Morson is currently recruiting for an Sustainability and Energy Strategy Lead to join a forward-thinking organisation focused on reducing energy consumption and enhancing sustainability. This is an exciting opportunity to drive innovative energy strategies, optimize energy use, and contribute to the company’s long-term sustainable future. With flexibility in location, this role is open to candidates from various regions, including Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, or London.
The Role
As the Energy Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the energy strategy across the organisation, with a focus on reducing energy consumption and enhancing sustainability. Key responsibilities include:
• Identifying and prioritising opportunities to generate green energy in a sustainable and economical way, including solar and wind power solutions.
• Collaborating with procurement to identify optimal energy sources and ensure cost-effective energy solutions.
• Developing and implementing energy strategies aligned with business goals and energy tariffs.
• Reporting on energy performance to senior management and ensuring alignment with site targets.
• Researching and understanding technological innovations, government initiatives, and funding strategies for energy optimisation.
• Engaging with stakeholders, suppliers, and government departments to drive cost-effective energy solutions.
• Developing tools and techniques to monitor and track energy consumption and progress on reduction programs.
Skills & Experience Required
• Degree in Energy Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (advantageous).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing energy strategies and sustainability solutions, preferably within a manufacturing or large-scale operations environment.
• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, energy optimisation, and continuous improvement practices.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and engage external partners effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify emerging trends and technologies.
• Proven ability to network with energy suppliers, regulatory bodies, and industry associations
