Job Opportunity: Design Manager (Water & Wastewater Treatment/Infrastructure)
Location: Cookstown
Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per annum plus package
Type: Full Time – Permanent (Hybrid) 2-3 days in the office
Are you ready to lead innovative water and wastewater treatment projects with minimal red tapes from concept to completion? OR do you have vast Infrastructure project experience and passionate to get involved in the trending Water & Wastewater Treatment?
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Design Manager to drive design excellence, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions that meet regulatory standards and project goals.
Responsibilities
• Oversee end-to-end design processes for water and wastewater treatment projects, from concept to delivery.
• Lead multidisciplinary design teams and supply chain partners, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
• Implement design performance management systems, set KPIs, and utilize Earned Value Analysis (EVA) to track design progress and initiate corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards and CDM regulations, prioritizing health and safety in design.
• Manage design changes, assessing impacts on scope, cost, and timeline while maintaining robust change control processes.
• Oversee QA processes to ensure design documentation meets required standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to align design solutions with project execution.
• Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and contractors to secure approvals and meet specifications.
• Monitor design budgets and resources, adjusting strategies to meet financial targets.
What we require from you
• 8-10 years of experience in design management, focusing on water and wastewater projects and/or infrastructure
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, design, or related field. Chartered status or working towards will be a bonus.
• Familiarity with BIM, sustainable design principles, and project management certification (PMP or PRINCE2) is advantageous.
• Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex design solutions.
• Expertise in, engineering disciplines, and design performance management.
