The Role
My client is looking for an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to join their development design team. In this role, you will lead a team of Technicians, overseeing workloads, providing guidance, and offering support while also managing your own project responsibilities. A key focus will be feasibility and planning designs, working closely with project stakeholders to ensure designs are practical, compliant with regulations, and successfully implemented.

Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee a team of technicians, reviewing their work and managing team workloads efficiently.
- Participate in internal design workshops, contributing innovative solutions and technical expertise.
- Develop and refine feasibility-stage designs, ensuring they align with the design brief while considering site constraints.
- Create high-quality 3D visualisations to support planning submission documents.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to optimise building layouts and site planning.
- Work alongside the in-house planning team to prepare and submit planning applications, ensuring compliance with national and local regulations.
- Identify and address design-related health and safety risks at every project stage.
- Engage in CPD events to enhance and update professional knowledge.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing quality, deadlines, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and clients to enhance design efficiency and innovation.
- Stay informed about UK planning policies and building regulations.
- Integrate health and safety considerations into the design process, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
- Conduct site visits to assess land conditions and surrounding environments, incorporating relevant findings into design adjustments.
- Resolve technical challenges that arise during the construction process.

Skills:
- Degree (or equivalent) qualified in architectural technology, building technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp.
- A strong understanding of 3D visualisation and rendering software packages.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK Planning, building regulations and associated standards.
- Strong visual representation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction or architectural industry.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
