Design Engineer EICA

Job Title:            Design Engineer (EICA / MEICA)
Location:           Severn Trent Water Region, West Midlands, East Midlands

Job Type:            Permanent role
Salary:                Salary undisclosed / Negotiable based on level of experience & seniority

We are currently recruiting multiple Design Engineer within the water sector, looking to speak with talented EICA and MEICA individuals who are interested in securing a role working on AMP8, over the coming 5+ years.  

In this role you will contribute to upcoming construction projects from concept to installation and handover stage, incorporating detailed design, adherence to industry regulations and safety standards and creation of operating manuals.

Tasks will include designing control systems, conducting technical reviews, preparing drawings, overseeing installation and testing, and ensuring the operation of systems to specifications for project designs, SLDs, BCDs, Cable Calculations, Load Schedules, I/O schedules, MCCs.

Previous Water experience is therefore preferred for this role and Chartered Status is advantageous (Dependent on level of experience and seniority).

Ideal skills will include:

  • Project design and management from concept to detailed design.
  • Adherence to industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Development of SLDs, BCDs, Load Schedules, Cable Calculations, I/O schedules.
  • MCC installations and control systems design.
  • Conducting technical reviews and preparing technical drawings.
  • Overseeing installation and testing of systems.
  • Ensuring systems operate to specifications.
  • Proficient in PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Software Experience required:

  • PLC programming software.
  • SCADA systems.
  • AutoCAD.
  • BIM.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
  • Chartered Status preferred (Dependent on level of experience and seniority).
