Project Director

Project Director – Data Centre/Construction Nordics – Permanent – up to £200,000 per year

My client are responsible for delivering design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for large scale construction projects.

Role description:

You will play a key role delivering Data Centre mega-projects.
My client are looking for an experienced Project Director to join a rapidly growing team. You will play a key role leading the delivery of one of our biggest data centre construction projects in the Nordics.

The successful candidate will be based either 100% in country, or there will be significant international travel to the Nordics region (11/3 rotation)

Role accountabilities:
You’ll be responsible for managing all stages of hyperscale data centre construction projects, taking projects through pre-construction, construction, and close out/fit-up.

Day-to-day this includes but is not limited to:

Pre-construction
• Working with the client and general contractor to create and establish the Master Project Schedule and Master Project Budget
• Supporting Contractor pre-qualification, bid analysis and recommendations
• Supporting contract negotiations
• Assisting the client and the Client’s team in identifying, scoping, buying-out and scheduling of all Owner-direct vendors and consultants

Construction
• Managing the General Contractor and other directly contracted vendors on the ground
• Coordinating Value Engineering efforts during the construction phase
• Working with the Client’s commercial and PCG team to develop Budget Management and Tracking
• Liaising with the Client’s schedule management team to provide Schedule monitoring, tracking and analysis

Close out/Fit up
• Initiating close out process prior to project completion, typically two to three months in advance
• Establishing close out documentation requirements with the Client’s document controller. Collect and track receipt of all close out documents until completion, including warranties, as-builts, O&M manuals, etc.
• Assisting with City and/or other Authority final inspections and occupancy process.
• Assisting the Client in scheduling, coordination and management of all Owner-direct vendors, consultants.

Qualifications & Experience:
• An in-depth understanding of large-scale technical projects and construction techniques.
• Ability to manage technical disciplines.
• Experience working on Data Centre new build and refurbishment projects, preferably on hyperscale builds, would be advantageous
• Ability to coordinate the work of other discipline specific Owner’s Representatives to achieve the objectives set by the client
• Ability to commit to significant international travel
