We are looking for Data Specialists who have experience in handling complex data, performing statistical modelling and scenario-based ‘What-If’ analysis. Experience with AI, Machine Leaning or a degree based around statistics would be preferable. On-the-job training will be provided for the software/tools used but experience with Tableau would be beneficial.

There will be hybrid working out of our clients office in Barrow-in-Furness, ideally onsite twice a fortnight but this is flexible. Rate will be negotiable based on experience.

The role will be a 12 month contract with a view to go permanent in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Selects and applies non-standard business intelligence tools and techniques to provide insights and aid decision-making. Selects, acquires and integrates data for analysis.
• Plans and drives the development of data engineering solutions ensuring that solutions balance functional and non-functional requirements.
• Derives data management structures and metadata to support consistency of information retrieval, combination, analysis, pattern recognition and interpretation.
• Applies a range of data science techniques and uses specialised programming languages.
• Understands and applies rules and guidelines specific to heavy industry, and anticipates risks and other implications of modelling.
• Formats and communicates results using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualisation methods appropriate to the target audience.
• Collates conclusions and recommendations and presents forensics findings to stakeholders.
• Contributes to the development, evaluation, monitoring and deployment of artificial intelligent systems, and numerical algorithms.
• Plans and implements improvements to measurement capability. Provides advice and guidance for effective use of measures and measurement.
• Selects measures appropriate to the context and programme outcomes.
• Creates new mathematical representations of the underlying programme performance.

Qualifications
• Roles typically require a University Degree, or a substantial amount of practical knowledge gained through experience.
