About the Role:
Cargill is looking for a Process Operating Technician to join our York Cocoa & Chocolate manufacturing facility. This role offers the chance to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while working with advanced food processing systems. As part of our team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
Location: York, UK
Shifts:
The role will initially involve Monday-Friday day shifts (40 hours/week), transitioning to a 4 on / 4 off pattern including day and night shifts, to ensure 24/7 plant coverage.
£34,199 or £42,253 DOE
Key Responsibilities
• Learn all aspects of the Process Operator role, including site health & safety, risk assessments, and food safety practices (HACCP).
• Operate and control manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality and efficiency.
• Conduct fault identification, raise work orders, and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain high standards of plant housekeeping through _clean as you go_ practices.
• Participate in quality control and data analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• Work closely with the maintenance team on operational and scheduled maintenance activities.
What Were Looking For
• High safety awareness for self and other employees and knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
• Experience working in a large process manufacturing environment
• ledge of food safety standards, preferably knowledge of HACCP
• Knowledge of environmental controls
• Good level of IT skills- including Excel, Word and manufacturing systems
• Team player
• Good communicator
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Self-motivated, able to work within a self-managed team
• Willingness to undertake manual tasks which sometimes involve working in a dirty and hot environment
• Ability to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner
