Job Title: Export Control Assistant Practitioner
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Contract: 16 Months / options to be taken perm
Salary: £20.00ph PAYE

Role Summary:
We are looking for an Export Control Assistant Practitioner to join the Export Control team within the Submarines division. Based in Barrow-in-Furness, this role involves ensuring compliance with domestic and foreign export control laws and regulations. You will be part of a specialist support function within the businesss legal team, managing relationships and supporting the shipping team in export control compliance. This is a maternity cover role, but there is potential for a permanent position following the contract.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily support to the Export Control function, assisting in managing and completing tasks related to export control matters.
• Oversee the allocation of queries and tasks, contributing to business processes and escalating issues when necessary.
• Assist in reviewing and developing export control processes and user guides, ensuring compliance with internal standards.
• Conduct audits of compliance and assist in risk management, developing mitigation plans where required.
• Support the preparation of export control training for cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and update registers, user guides, and SharePoint, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Assist with root cause analysis, lessons learned reviews, and regulatory investigations into potential export control breaches.
• Communicate export control matters to the wider business in a clear, concise manner.
• Support export control assurance activities and contribute to the development of continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

• Experience working within a logistics, HMRC, or shipping environment (desirable).
• Experience in a compliance-focused role.
• Extensive administrative background.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and manage time efficiently.
